BACKGROUND

Convincing consumers to step-up to premium grade batteries in the height of a recession is not an easy task. But it’s exactly the task Energizer charged us with.

Our solution, an in-pack PIN based program designed to put a little money back in consumers’ pockets with every purchase of specially marked Energizer Performance Batteries.

IN-PACK OFFER

Found inside participating packs of Energizer batteries, these inserts contained a unique PIN which could be redeemed online. Three levels of rewards were available: $1, $5 and $1,000. The amount the consumer had won was printed on the insert to provide an element of instant gratification..

WEBSITE AND VOUCHER

To drive traffic to Energizer’s website we built an entry portal for the program where consumers would enter their unique PIN and provide their mailing address. Once redeemed online consumers were mailed a voucher that contained brand messaging and a cheque that could be redeemed on any product from an extensive list of participating retailers including Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Loblaw’s and Best Buy.
